Kazakh President to attend Kiev nuclear safety summit
ASTANA. April 18. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will take part in the summit on safe and innovative use of nuclear power in Kiev on April 19. Official spokesman of Kazakh Foreign Ministry Askar Abdrakhmanov informed of it a Monday briefing.
The event is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident.
"Participation of the Kazakhstan's President once again confirms the significant contribution of our country in the process of nonproliferation and disarmament, a principled position on the issues of international nuclear security and peaceful use of nuclear energy," Abdrakhmanov noted.
Heads of state and governments of several countries in Europe and Asia, UN Secretary General, leadership of the IAEA, European Commission and other international organizations have already confirmed their participation in the summit.
