Kazakh President takes part in start of Zhetygen-Korgas railway line construction

DYKORGAN. August 3. KAZINFORM. /Sandugash Duissenova/ Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has taken part in the launch of construction of Zhetygen-Korgas railway line in Almaty region today.
The length of the line is 298 km. The construction will continue for 45 months till 2012. The cost is KZT 147.4 billion.
The project of the railroad construction is realized within the state program "30 corporate leaders of Kazakhstan".
The projects envisages opening of the second frontier point on the border with China. It will allow to increase volumes of cargo transportation.
5,500 people will be involved into the construction works. 2,093 jobs will be created in the period of operation and maintenance.
