Kazakh President suggests Turkic-speaking countries holding joint celebratory events

ISTANBUL. September 16. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ At a plenary session of the 10th Summit of Turkic States President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has suggested holding joint cultural events on celebration of the 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in 2011.

'2011 will be a historical year for Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan that will mark the 20th anniversary of their independence. To my mind it will be a peculiar year for brotherly Turkey as well", N. Nazarbayev said.

The Kazakh leader suggested holding large-scale celebratory events together. According to him, it will promote strengthening of cooperation between brotherly Turkic-speaking nations.
