Kazakh President sets new tasks for Healthcare Ministry
ASTANA-AKORDA. January 26. KAZINFORM. Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has received Minister of Healthcare Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev today; the presidential press service told Kazinform.
The Minister reported to the President on the results of the Ministry's work in 2009.
According to Mr. Doskaliyev, the rates of infant and maternal mortality, tuberculosis cases and cardiovascular diseases decreased in 2009. A single national system of healthcare is implemented in the country in accordance with the Code of People's Health and Healthcare System.
"The President set new tasks. It is necessary to improve the systems of preventive medicine and primary medical care, address problems of providing the population with qualitative pharmaceuticals and foodstuffs. These instructions will form a basis of a new state program of Kazakhstan's healthcare development for 2011-2015", the Minister informed at a briefing for journalists.
