The issues of bilateral relations and functioning of the Customs Union were discussed.

"Nursultan Nazarbayev is the locomotive of the integration of the whole post-Soviet history. In this regard, the passed and achieved milestones show the loyalty and efficiency of the integration vector.... Deepening of integration will make the development of our economies more resilient, more profound. Today's meeting with President Nursultan Nazarbayev has been devoted to creating a new legal framework for the commission (of the CU). It should also become more professional, permanent body that will ensure the effective functioning of the organization in a new integration field. Thanks to the great experience of the President of Kazakhstan on the one hand, and understanding of the importance of these processes on the other hand, it is possible today to reach compromises that open a large horizon for the development. For 20 years Kazakhstan has become a different country - a steadily growing country, which sees its prospects, understands its interests, is able to defend them, implementing major projects in various fields," Khristenko told a briefing.
