Kazakh President received head of OSCE Observer Mission
ASTANA. January 13. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev received Joao Soares, head of OSCE PA Observation Mission on Friday in Astana; Kazinform refers to the Presidential press service.
The parties discussed the issues of coming parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan and work of the observer mission.
Nazarbayev thanked Soares for the support of Kazakhstan's presidency of OSCE and Astana OSCE Summit in 2010.
Mr. Joao Soares said he admires with the development of Kazakhstan, great changes, which are taking place in the country. He noted that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly reacted positively to the President's decision to hold parliamentary elections in Zhanaozen, where observers of the OSCE mission will work.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that he made this decision because all the people of Kazakhstan should take part in elections. The President noted that he had initiated changes to the Constitution of Kazakhstan in order to create the country's multiparty parliament. The forthcoming elections to the Majilis were announced ahead of time in order to quickly implement this reform.
Nazarbayev wished the success to the mission of observers and invited Joao Soares to take part in the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions this year in Astana.
