Kazakh President discusses economic cooperation with his Czech counterpart

During the meeting the parties discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in economic, trade, transport and transit, agricultural, cultural and humanitarian spheres. In addition, heads of states touched upon the prospects of partnership in mechanical engineering, energy, medicine and tourism. The two leaders also exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda. Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic have traditionally good relations. "Our countries have a common view on the development of many world events. The Czech Republic is an important trading partner for us in Europe. There are more than 70 joint ventures in Kazakhstan. Since 2005, there have been produced more than 15 thousand cars of "Škoda" brand. However, in the next year it is scheduled to release 8000 cars. In general, we have a lot of opportunities for further development of relations, including through the enhancement of the intergovernmental commission," said the President of Kazakhstan. In turn, M. Zeman noted the importance of strengthening cooperation in various fields. "Currently, we are working to reveal the potential of the new Silk Road. We appreciate not only the level of Kazakhstan's development, but it's potential, taking into account the key location in Central Asia," said the President of the Czech Republic.
