Kazakh President congratulates schoolchildren on the Day of Knowledge

The President noted that the future of Kazakhstan is the hands of teachers. "Today is the Day of Knowledge. About 2.6 million children across Kazakhstan will seat at their desks. 300 thousand of the children are first-grade students. In comparison with the previous year this number increased by 70 thousand. I congratulate children, parents, and teachers. I wish you great success in the new academic year", said the Head of State after visiting the new grammar school number 75. "Children must be patriotic, tolerant. They should respect their parents and elders. These are the enduring values of our society", he said. According to N. Nazarbayev, this year Kazakhstan has put into operation 153 schools, 63 of which opened their doors today. During the years of independence one thousand schools have been built in Kazakhstan.
