Kazakh President awards presidential and state scholarships to cultural workers

KAZINFORM /Berik Bekmurzayev/ Recently we have celebrated the 20th anniversary of independence, and despite the fact that we had to overcome so much we never abandoned our culture, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said today in Almaty during the awarding ceremony of presidential and state scholarships.
"Today's ceremony is special. During the years of Independence we have not only preserved but also developed our culture - built 18 theaters, 220 museums, 870 libraries," he noted.
Cultural workers thanked the President for the invaluable support provided to culture, and expressed unanimous support for his policy.
Upon the results of 2011 more than a hundred people were awarded the presidential and state scholarships in the field of culture. Among them are winners of the State Prize of Kazakhstan, writers, poets, artists, musicians and honored workers of culture.
