Kazakh President arrived in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT. June 13. KAZINFORM - Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of Kazakhstan, arrived in Tashkent with an official visit.

At "Tashkent-2" airport the Head of State was met by Islam Karimov, the President of Uzbekistan, and the delegation of higher officials of the Republic of Uzbekistan as well as Boribai Zheksembin, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.

According to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on Friday June 14, in the first half of the day it has been planned to conduct talks between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in a narrow range and extended format. By the end of the meeting it is planned to endorse approximately four bilateral documents.

It is expected that the Kazakh leader will lay flowers at the "Monument of Independence and humanism" and visit the complex called "Sheyhantahur" including the "Tole" mausoleum. N. Nazarbayev will also take part in the official opening ceremony of the new building of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan as well as the monument to Abai Kunanbayev in Tashkent.

It should be noted that diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were established in November 23, 1992. The basic document of bilateral relations are the Treaty of Eternal Friendship and the Treaty of deepening the economic collaboration. Trade turnover between the two countries for the year of 2012 amounted to USD 2 billion 75 million and it showed growth by 9.6%.
