Kazakh Premier urges to start modernization of Pavlodar and Shymkent refineries

"The President has repeatedly noted the need to ensure the domestic market with domestic oil products, the quality of which must comply with the new environmental standards. Today, the minister [of oil and gas] in his report drew attention to this, but all the issues related to the reconstruction and modernization of refineries break the implementation schedule", said the Prime Minister and instructed the Ministry of Oil and Gas to complete all preparatory work and start practical reconstruction and modernization of Pavlodar and Shymkent refineries in 2013.

"At the coming meeting of the interdepartmental committee we are going to review the progress of the project of reconstruction and modernization of refineries," Akhmetov added.
