Kazakh Premier reported to the President on main indicators of socio-economic development of the country

The meeting was attended by Head of the Presidential Administration Massimov and Deputy President B.Sultanov.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reported on the main indicators of socio-economic development of the country and the measures taken to maintain the rate of growth of the economy.

- Last year the country's nominal GDP was lower than planned at KZT 1.4 trillion (tenge). Thus, the economy grew by 5% instead of the expected increase of 6%. However, we believe that this is a good indicator. In addition, the decrease in demand and international prices for the main export products of metallurgical and mining industries also affected the decline in GDP growth and revenues to the national budget. In view of these results, we are planning to adjust the budget, as we expect that this year it did not get the order of KZT 495 billion (tenge). At the same time, there is work to increase revenue, and we should take the necessary steps to rectify the situation, said Akhmetov.

Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed the need to clarify the parameters of the revenue side of the budget with a view to its balance and efficiency.

Following the meeting the Head of State has given a number of specific instructions on the issues discussed.
