Kazakh Premier opens the 12th CAREC Ministerial Conference

ASTANA. October 24. KAZINFORM - At the Palace of Independence the Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has opened the 12th Ministerial Conference of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC).

Annual Ministerial Conference determines the policies and strategic direction of the CAREC Program. The program supports up to 2020 Kazakhstan national programs aimed at diversifying the economy and improving its capabilities.

"We support the CAREC Program, aimed at finding strategies and solutions to challenges in the area of ​​trade policy and energy. It is gratifying that CAREC uses the potential of regional cooperation, thus contributing to building the global future" stated in his speech Serik Akhmetov.

In general, a partnership under CAREC comprises ten countries like Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The Asian Development Bank is working as the CAREC Secretariat since 2001.
