Kazakh PM visited National Center for Biotechnology in Astana
ASTANA. April 22. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has visited the National Center for Biotechnology in Astana today.
The Head of the Government got acquainted with the work of laboratory of biotechnology and selection, immunochemistry and immunobiotechnology, national scientific laboratory of multi-access biotechnology and surveyed the republican collection of microorganisms.
Director General of the Center Yerlan Ramankulov briefed the Premier on the main achievements of the research team of the Center in last five years.
"Vaccinations against swine flu and AH1N1 flu (created by the Center) undergo clinical trials in the Institute of Influenza in St. Petersburg at the moment. The vaccinations meet all international standards, demands of the World Health Organization and are competitive and export-oriented", Y.Ramankulov said.
Besides, the Center worked out high-efficiency product for soil cleaning from petrol pollutions "Ekobak", five high-yielding varieties of wheat and two new varieties of rice.
The Premier expressed satisfaction with the work of the Center and wished success to the research team.
