Kazakh PM tasks to complete heating network repairs by end of August

At today’s Government meeting, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed regional authorities to finish heating network repairs by the end of August, Qazinform News Agency reports.

He said, regional akimats (administrations) must complete tender procedures within two weeks and immediately begin repair work, avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy.

By September 1, the Industry and Construction Ministry and local authorities are tasked to ensure full readiness of schools and healthcare facilities.

All infrastructure and housing utilities must be prepared by September 15 in northern, central, and eastern regions, and by October 15 in other regions.

He also ordered mayors and governors of the regions to personally monitor progress with regular site visits.

KEGOC and the Energy Ministry are assigned to approve operating regimes for national-level power stations by May 25.

As stated there, the Energy and Transport Ministries, and akimats must secure fuel reserves at heating plants and depots by September 1.

Olzhas Bektenov stressed that work volumes and funding must not be reduced, warning that measures will be taken against owners and management companies for any violations.

Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan plans to modernize 130 km of heating networks and 10,500 km of electricity supply networks this year.
