Kazakh PM laid flowers at a monument to Kabanbai Batyr

ASTANA. February 13. KAZINFORM. /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov has taken part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Kabanbai Batyr in Taldykorgan.

"The monument was opened in September 2009. Kabanbai Batyr is depicted sitting on a horse. The sculpture is made of bronze; its height is 9 meters, weight - 5 tons", Kabi Baulukov, the author of the monument, said.

The cost of the project is KZT 120 million. The funds were allocated from the state budget (60 million) and by residents (60 million).

First Deputy Chairman of Nur Otan People's Democratic Party Nurlan Nigmatulin, Minister of Culture and Information Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed, Minister of Transport and Communications Abelgazy Kussainov, Minister of Agriculture Akhylbek Kurishbayev and Akim of Almaty region Serik Umbetov took part in the ceremony as well.
