Kazakh Parliament holds joint sitting

ASTANA. June 23. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakh Parliament is currently holding joint sitting with participation of 44 senators and 93 majilismen; Kazinform reports.

Chairman of the Constitutional Council Igor Rogov informed that further lawmaking security, implementation of constitutional values enshrined in the Principal Law, development of existing law and its separate institutions, development of law enforcement practice as well as development of social system and guarantees of rights and freedoms of citizens amidst the global economic crisis are the main priorities of the State activity.  

 He also noted that some positions of decisions of the Constitutional Council are still no implemented by law. The facts of failure to comply with the requirement of legal drafting methodology, nonidentity of the texts in Kazakh and Russian languages, unauthorized extension of restriction of human rights and freedoms admitted by the Constitution were revealed.

 I. Rogov emphasized the need to carry out goal-oriented complex work on strengthening the constitutional legitimacy.
