Kazakh Ombudsman meets with ex-Chairperson of UN Committee on Rights of Child Jacob Doek
ASTANA. March 17. KAZINFORM Kazakh Commissioner for Human Rights Askar Shakirov has met with famous international expert in the field of protection of children's rights, ex-Chairperson of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child Jacob Doek; the Ombudsman's press service reports.
The UNICEF Office in Kazakhstan invited him for studying the situation with observance of children's rights in the country and presentation of recommendations on reform of juvenile justice development taking into account international experience of development of this field of law.
The international expert was familiarized with the country's activity in the sphere of protection of children's rights, including the issues of improvement of legal framework and law enforcement practice.
There was held a constructive dialog on the issues of strengthening cooperation of the national human rights establishment with the UNICEF.
