Kazakh national team to be largest at 7th Asian Games
ASTANA. September 8. KAZINFORM /Zhanna Korkitova/ The Kazakh delegation will be the largest at the 7th Asian Games 2011 which is to include 167 athletes. President of the Executive Directorate of the 7th Asian Games Organizing Committee Anatoly Kulnazarov said it during signing the agreement on cooperation between the Organizing Committee and SamrukKazyna in the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of Kazakhstan today.
'Currently there are 167 sportsmen of the national team ready to participate in the Games. The second largest team at the Games is going to be China with 140 sportsmen', the Committee representative noted.
According to him in compliance with strategic plan of the Committee 2.5 thousand sportsmen are expected from 32 countries.
'To date 24 countries have confirmed their participation. Besides, we expect around 350,000 fans and 10,000 tourists who are interested in winter sports to come from many countries', A. Kulnazarov said.
A. Kulnazarov also noted that the Kazakh national team faces the task to take the first or second place in team rating.
