Kazakh MPs to play major role in country's development: Nigmatulin
ASTANA. January 18. KAZINFORM The State-of-the-Nation Address of President Nursultan Nazarbayev "Kazakhstan's way: Common goal, common interests, common future" assigns the legislative power a major role, Majilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin said at the session of the Lower Chamber of the Kazakh Parliament Friday.
"The Head of State clearly defined the long-term landmarks for the implementation of the Kazakhstan-2050 Development Strategy as well as practical steps that should be taken in all priority fields to speed up the country's development. The parliamentarians are to fulfill the daunting task of shaping up the solid legal framework of the strategy," Mr. Nigmatulin noted.
The Majilis Speaker expressed confidence 'close work of MPs will help adopt qualitative and effective laws'.
According to the press service, those present stressed the importance of all aspects of the state-of-the-nation address, noting the need to preserve the high work pace on its legislative provision. The Majilis deputies touched upon the primary areas of the future legislative work related to the amendments that should be made to the legislation on innovative industrialization, social security, agro-industrial complex, education and science, economy, small and medium business.
Given the tasks ahead, the Lower Chamber of the Kazakh Parliament adopted the new agenda for its upcoming session.
