Kazakh MFA and EU diplomatic representation offices hold negotiations in Astana
ASTANA. May 19. KAZINFORM Today there have been held negotiations between the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic representation offices of the EU member states accredited in Kazakhstan and the EU Representation Office in Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh delegation was headed by Executive Secretary of the Kazakh MFA Rapil Zhoshybayev, the EU delegation was represented by heads (ambassadors) and consuls of the EU member states, and Head of the EU representation office Norbert Jousten.
The sides discussed the state and prospects of development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the consular-legal issues, expansion of consular interaction between Kazakhstan and the EU countries. The parties exchanged opinions on a wide range of consular issues, which touch upon interests of our citizens. Necessity of acceleration of the negotiating process on conclusion of the corresponding agreement between Kazakhstan and the EU was noted.
The Kazakh representative familiarized the participants with actions taken by the Foreign Ministry on visa regime facilitation for the Kazakh citizens with the EU countries, signing of corresponding agreement and etc.
R.Zhoshybayev asked representatives of the EU member states to support the Kazakh initiative on signing of an agreement on facilitation of a visa regime between Kazakhstan and the EU.
The European side expressed understanding of the Kazakh initiative and readiness to support us in the bilateral level as well as within the framework of the EU structures.
