Kazakh Majilis Speaker urges TURKPA to support establishment of OSDA

Majilis Speaker of Kazakhstan Kabibulla Dzhakupov who is attending has urged the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking countries (TURKPA) to support Nursultan Nazarbayev's idea of transforming the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) into the Organization for Security and Development in Asia (OSDA). The Kazakh President voiced the idea at the 4th CICA Summit in Shanghai this May. "OSDA can become an important instrument in the peaceful development of Asia and TURKPA could support that idea and put forward its proposals," Mr. Dzhakupov noted. Kazakhstani MP also told his colleagues from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey further strengthening of TURKPA and interaction in the sphere of education between the Turkic-speaking countries are of paramount importance.
