Kazakh leadership knows how to overcome global crisis - Russian expert
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A political expert from Russia Anton Morozov has commented on the State-of-the-Nation Address delivered by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev "Nurly zhol - Path to the future" on November 11.
"The recent presidential address is nothing like anyone expected it to be. It was a big surprise for all Nur Otan Party members when President Nazarbayev announced the new presidential address will be delivered at the party's session. But this fact proves that the Nur Otan Party plays a key role in Kazakhstan and shoulders the responsibility for country's further development. In his address the President used such words as ‘new threats and challenges', ‘geopolitical crisis', ‘global problems' and depicted the current situation in quite gloomy colors. But I think it was done to motivate the Government. It needs to step up its game and start fulfilling its tasks right off the bat," Mr. Morozov said. According to him, the new economic policy "Nurly zhol" shows the way to overcome negative trends that persist in Kazakhstan nowadays. "Infrastructural development was put into the spotlight of the new policy. Funds required for development of infrastructure and transit potential will be allotted from the National Fund. The money will be channeled into construction and strengthening of railway lines and highways, transport hubs and cargo terminals. Extra funds will be earmarked for housing and public utilities as well as support for small and medium enterprises," he added. "Basically, the address shows that the leadership of the country has a realistic plan of how to overcome and minimize the consequences of global instability," A. Morozov concluded.
