KAZINFORM /Timur Bekturganov/ The draft law of Kazakhstan "On religious activity and religious associations" is an efficient and modern response of our country to challenges and threats of modern realia. First of all, it is the measures with a view to preventing development of destructive cults' activity in the country that pose threats to Kazakhstanis.

Its aim is to set proper state control over this delicate sphere neither restricting democratic rights of the people nor turning this process into inquisition, president of Sana information and advisory centre Gulnara Orazbayeva said the session of the human dimension review conference in Warsaw commenting on the amendments to the legislation on religious activity of Kazakhstan.

The new bill is a response to security challenges. Obviously, the country's long-felt need is to set priorities in the religious sphere, to regulate finally relations between the state and religious associations, G. Orazbayeva said.
