Kazakh judoka wows 2013 World Cadet Championships in Miami with gold
ASTANA. August 9. KAZINFORM Judoka from Kazakhstan Bauyrzhan Zhauyntayev has proved to be the best in his 55 kg category at the 2013 IJF World Cadet Championships in Miami, the press service of the Kazakhstan Judo Federation said.
Zhauyntayev is the first Kazakh cadet to win gold medal at the world championship. On his way to gold, Kazakh judoka surpassed athletes from Peru, Ukraine, the U.S., and Georgia.
The final bout proved to be the toughest one: Bauyrzhan faced Elios Manzi of Italy, the silver medalist of the 2011 World Cadet Championships. The fate of the fight was resolved only in extra time - Bauyrzhan won.
The 2013 World Cadet Championships is held on August 8-11 in Miami, Florida (the U.S.). The event has brought together 532 athletes from 79 countries of the world.
