Kazakh, Israeli Defense Ministers hold phone talks

ASTANA. May 21. KAZINFORM A telephone conversation between Kazakh Defense Minister Danial Akhmetov and Minister of Defense of Israel Ehud Barak, initiated by the Kazakh side was held yesterday, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Defense Ministry.
The Heads of Ministries discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation between the countries prior to visit of Israeli President Shimon Peres in Astana in June, 2009.
The sides confirmed mutual interest in development of interaction in the military and technological spheres and expressed assurance in its success. Topical issues of supplies of armament and equipment by Israeli companies ?IMI? and ?Soltam? in Kazakhstan were discussed as well.
E.Barak informed that high official of the Israeli Defense Ministry will visit Astana to discuss the current situation. Issues of eradication of gaps in the supplied Israeli armament and proof of high quality of products of the Israeli defense industry by independent experts will be discussed within the visit.
The sides agreed to hold enlarged consultations on strengthening of interaction within possible visit of Heads of Defense Ministries in Astana of Tel-Aviv in the nearest future.
