Kazakh Government discussed preparation for autumn-winter heating season 2009-2010
ASTANA. September 2. KAZINFORM. The Government of Kazakhstan has held a telephone conference on the issues of preparation for the heating season 2009-2010 and realization of Road Map program in the sphere of housing and utilities infrastructure in Astana today; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Premier's press service.
Minister of Labor and Social Protection G. Abdykalikova, Minister of Emergencies V. Boshko and Chairman of the Agency for Construction, Housing Maintenance and Utilities S. Nokin made reports.
The level of readiness for the cold season was found out to be low. In Almaty city, Zhambyl, Pavlodar and Akmola region the level of preparedness was only 50%.
Vice Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov, who chaired the conference, urged the heads of the regions to activate preparation of housing, health, education and other social facilities for the autumn-winter heating season.
