Kazakh-German relations strengthened within last 20 years but potential for economic coop still exists

ALMATY. January 20. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilyinskaya/ "The relations between Kazakhstan and Germany were strengthened within the last 20 years, but there is still exists a great potential for economic cooperation that wasn't brought out yet", General Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany to Almaty Gerold Amelung said at the press conference devoted to the Year of Germany in Kazakhstan.

"Germany in Kazakhstan 2010" one-year program will allow to realize exchange beyond the borders of the two states and build bridges between Europe and Central Asia.

According to G.Amelung, all economic activities, including the Day of German Economy are aimed not only at promoting trade and German export, but also at developing contacts with small business and investment activity as well.

Director of the Goethe Institute in Almaty Barbara Fraenkel-Thonet noted that modern art and public life of Germany will be presented to the Kazakh audience within the cultural activities.

The organizer of "Germany in Kazakhstan 2010" program is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany together with the Goethe Institute.
