Kazakh-French Technologies Transfer Center opened in Astana

ASTANA. July 2. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ The objective of the Kazakh-French Center for Transfer of Technologies is development of the real sector of the Kazakhstan economy, French Minister of State for foreign trade Anne-Marie Idrac said it today at the opening ceremony of the Center.

As for the global projects they are connected with transfer of technical knowledge in innovative spheres. The engineers from Kazakhstan and France will work jointly in the leading spheres - solar energy, nanotechnologies, the French Minister clarified.

"Tomorrow together with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov we will lay the first stone to construction of a cosmic materials factory", Anne-Marie Idrac said. "This will be an industrial facility, a venture of Astrium, the affiliate of EADS group (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company)", she added.

In October 2009 within the state visit of Nicolas Sarkozy Kazakhstan and France signed an intergovernmental agreement on development of the real sector of economy on innovative basis.

In pursuance of this agreement the countries entered into an agreement on establishment of Kazakhstan-France Center of Technologies Transfer consortium with opening a joint venture in Kazakhstan in future.
