At the meeting with ex-Secretary of State C.Powell the parties exchanged opinions on prospects of development of the Kazakh-American strategic partnership which, in C.Powell's opinion, being based on firm foundation of interaction in the political, economic spheres and in the field of ensuring security, should be developed further. Remembering with warmth his participation in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence, C.Powell expressed his best wishes to the Kazakhstani people and President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the year of the 20th anniversary of the country.

K.Saudabayev and Brent Scowcroft now heading the Commission on America's Nuclear Future of the U.S. Department of Energy discussed the current status and prospects of the nuclear nonproliferation regime as well as the issues of development of nuclear energy in the world. The American expert highly appraised Kazakhstan's readiness to establish an International nuclear fuel bank under the IAEA control in its territory, which will be an important factor of secure and peaceful development of nuclear energy in the world.

The issues of the regional security and Kazakhstan's chairmanship in such authoritative international organizations like the OSCE, SCO and OIC became the major topics of a conversation with Z.Brzezinski. The Kazakh Foreign Minister familiarized him with the results of the Kazakh presidency in the OSCE as well as joint actions of the governments of the two countries on solution of the most relevant challenges in the space of responsibility of the Organization in 2010.

"Successful chairmanship in the OSCE not only strengthened foreign positions and authority of the country in the international arena, but confirmed the important role of President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the modern world as a wise political figure, whose historic heritage is invaluable", Z.Brzezinski noted.
