Official Spokesperson of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs Askar Abdrakhmanov has made it public at a weekly briefing today.

According to him, K. Saudabayev was invited to the event by his British counterpart David Miliband.

Within the conference the Kazakh Secretary of State will make a report on Kazakhstan's measures on supporting the Afghan people as well as his propositions on raising the OSCE contribution to strengthening peaceful life in Afghanistan.

The Head of the Foreign Office will also inform the conference participants of the initiative of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to convene the Summit of the OSCE Leaders in Astana in 2010. "The situation in Afghanistan could become one of key issues of such forum taking into consideration the fact that 43 out of 56 member countries of the Organization are involved in rehabilitation of Afghanistan to date", the MFA Spokesperson stressed.

According to Abdrakhmanov, the event will also focus on four major issues: ensuring military security, promotion of Afghanistan's economic development, participation of regional neighbors in stabilization of the military-political situation in Afghanistan as well as the process of delegating responsibility for ensuring security in the country to the Afghan Government and solution of the key issues of national development.

Besides, K. Saudabayev is expected to have bilateral meeting with his foreign colleagues within the conference.
