Kazakh farmers should be self reliant, says Agriculture Minister

"Whatever program the ministry materializes, there will be problems, I can assure you. There will be hardships with feeds due to dry winter; but these problems can not be solved at the expense of tax payers. It is absolutely the wrong thing to do," Minister Mamytbekov told the extended session of the Farmers Union in Astana on Wednesday.

According to him, all Kazakh farmers should be, in the first place, self reliant. "The state will provide support to farmers, only if necessary," he concluded.
