Kazakh, European MPs discuss relationship development
BRUSSELS. March 6. KAZINFORM Kazakh parliamentary delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of the Majilis, Co-Chairman of the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee "Kazakhstan - EU" Sergey Dyachenko held meetings with heads of political parties' factions, committees and leadership of the European Parliament in Brussels.
In particular, the delegation met with European Parliament Deputy Chairman Miguel Angel Martinez Martinez, Chairman of Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists & Democrats Hannes Swoboda, Chairman of European Conservatives and Reformists Group Martin Callanan.
"Our purpose is to get acquainted with the activity of the European Parliament. With representatives of different factions, the leadership of the European Parliament and prominent European politicians we discuss the pressing issues of our time, outline the prospects for future cooperation, and find common ground. I must say that there is considerable interest in Kazakhstan and its reforms, as well as understanding of the processes occurring in our country," Dyachenko told journalists after the meetings.
According to him, the sides paid special attention to the issue of preparation for the sitting of "Kazakhstan - EU" Parliamentary Cooperation Committee planned for October 2012.
