Kazakh Education Ministry to take a tough stand on extramural training

ASTANA. August 24. KAZINFORM Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science is going to change the ratio of full-time and part-time contingent of students in higher education institutions, Education and Science Minister Bakhytzhan Zhumagulov said at the August meeting of teachers.

"It's no secret that the distant learning has lower quality. But the current situation is that more than half of our university graduates are extra-mural students. What quality can we talk about? So now the Ministry of Education and Science will take a tough stand in relation to the ratio of full-time and part-time students," he said.

However, he noted that the issue of distant learning is particularly relevant in the framework of training of masters and PhD students, including by teaching professions.
