Kazakh-Ecuadorian tennis duo creates sensation in Mexico

Kazakhstan’s highest ranked doubles tennis player Aleksandr Nedovyesov paired with Ecuadorian Gonzalo Escobar sensationally defeated top-seeded duo at the ATP 250 Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo tournament in Los Cabos, Mexico, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation (KTF).
The Kazakh-Ecuadorian tandem upset top seed British Neal Skupski and Mexican Santiago Gonzalez 3-6, 7-6, 10-6 in the quarterfinal match.
They will face Argentinian Guido Andreozzi and Mexican Miguel Angeel Reyes-Varela in the semifinal.
The prize fund of the tournament exceeds $900,000.
