Kazakh economy growth to exceed 4.5% in 2014, Economy Minister
ASTANA. KAZINFORM Growth of Kazakhstan's economy in 2014 will be more than 4.5%, Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dossayev told a briefing in the Central Communications Service.
"International financial institutions such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development predict Kazakhstan's GDP growth this year from 5% to 6%. The Ministry of Economy maintains the position that the growth will be more than 4.5%," he said.
According to him, the country's economy in January-May of this year increased by 4.1% as compared with the same period in 2013. Inflation from the beginning of the year was 4.5%, up 2.1 percentage points from the same period of 2013, the primeminister.kz reports.
In January-April this year, the average income of the population increased by 3.1% in real terms, while real wages - by 2.7%. The export of goods in the first quarter amounted to 22.6 billion dollars and increased by 11.0% against the decrease of by 1.6% in the same period in 2013. The export of goods to the Customs Union countries amounted to 1.2 billion dollars.
In general, foreign trade turnover increased by 3.7% and amounted to 31.1 billion dollars.
