Kazakh Deputy PM reviewed medical facilities in Karaganda rgn

KARAGANDA. July 18. KAZINFORM Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Yerbol Orynbayev visited a number of medical facilities during his working trip to Karaganda region.

In particular, Mr. Orynbayev and Minister of Healthcare of Kazakhstan Salidat Kairbekova got familiarized with the region's Center of traumatology and orthopedics named after Pr. Makazhanov.

"Due to introduction of the Unified National Healthcare System the sphere of medical services has become quite competitive. More than two thousand operations on replacement of hip and knee joints bear the witness to this," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

Besides, Mr. Orynbayev and Ms. Kairbekova visited "Primary health care center" LLP, servicing more than 100 thousand inhabitants of the region.

According to the health care center, over five years (2008 - 2013) the center has reached the following indicators: reducing the burden on specialists by 17.9% - from 220 318 to 180 840 services, reducing infant mortality by 33%, early detection of cancer - 60.8%.
