Kazakh delegation participated in V Global Competitiveness Forum

ASTANA. January 25. KAZINFORM On January 22-25 Riyadh hosted the V Global Competitiveness Forum held under the patronage of King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz.

According to the press service of the Kazakh Embassy in this country, the event aims to become a platform for discussing the most relevant issues of global economy and creating competitive atmosphere for business structures of various countries. Delegates from the leading developing states, former prime ministers of different countries, heads and representatives of NGOs, large corporations and companies of the Gulf States and other regions of the world arrived for the Forum. Among them are former Canadian Prime Minister J. Chrétien; Minister of Foreign Trade of UAE Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi; Saudi ministers of industry and trade, labor and social protection, oil and mineral resources; senators of Canada, representatives of the Beijing Congress of China, directors general and founders of world-famous corporations like Rolls Royce, Alcoa, Google, Armex, UBS Global and others.

The Kazakh delegation included Deputy Chief of the Department for Socio-Economic Monitoring of the Presidential Administration D. Iskakov; Chief of the Macroeconomic Analysis Sector of the Department for Macroeconomic Analysis and Program Monitoring of the PM's Office U. Kanapyanov; Vice Chairman of the Kazakhstan Agency on Regulation of Activities of Almaty Regional Financial Centre D. Nurpeissov. The members of the delegation held talks with the heads and representatives of business communities of the Gulf States.

Within the meetings with potential investors, our delegation informed them of the projects connected with implementation of Islamic financing in Kazakhstan.

The conference participants discussed the problems concerning development of competitiveness, further strengthening of economic security regime, development of the global energy system, creation of favorable business-doing conditions, implementation of modern methods of management, based on the latest achievements in science and technologies etc.
