Kazakh delegates attend OSCE field operations meeting in Yerevan

ANA. September 25. KAZINFORM - The delegation of Kazakhstan MFA alongside representatives of the UN and EU took part in the conference of chiefs of OSCE field operations in Southern Caucasus which is drawing to the end in Yerevan. Kazakhstan delegates took part in the meeting as part of the activities to step into the OSCE chairmanship in 2010, the MFA press service informs.

  The attention of the meeting participants was focused on political, economic and humanitarian problems of the region, particularly the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The heads of the OSCE missions in Baku and Yerevan delivered their analyses of approaches of the conflict parties towards its settlement.

The delegation of Kazakhstan presented their vision of Kazakhstan as the chair-in-office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. The chiefs of the OSCE field operations expressed hope that Kazakhstan will make a serious contribution taking charge of Europe's largest forum on security and cooperation and help find solutions to the frozen conflicts.  

The meeting participants stated that the forthcoming OSCE Chairmanship by Kazakhstan will be a significant event in the history of the Organization.
