Kazakh dancers take Paris by storm
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Dance ensemble Meruert from Astana was named the best at the XVIII International Festival of Children and Youth Art Paris, I love you! Choreography and Theater.
Head of the ensemble Anna Tarasenko says the festival brought together participants from Russia, Belgium, Latvia and Kazakhstan. "Our ensemble was named the best in folk and pop dance categories. We also received a diploma for the best national costumes," Ms Tarasenko said. Next up for the Astana-based dance ensemble is the festival in Saint Petersburg, Russia in October 2014. Created more than 20 years ago, the ensemble won grand-prix of Balbobek competition and organized a solo concert in Astana. Meruert dancers performed at dance festivals and contests in Spain, Italy, Bulgaria and Slovakia.
