Kazakh climber conquers North America's highest peak
ASTANA. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan's Maksut Zhumayev has conquered Mount McKinley, the highest mountain peak in North America.
Zhumayev shared his impressions with compatriots on Saturday at the Kazakh Consulate General in New York, its press service said. The meeting with participation of great Kazakh sportsman and children of legendary alpinist Valery Khrischatyi brought together a lot of youth. "Such attainments of Kazakhstanis in the US and conquering of new heights symbolize successful development of our country and Kazakh-US cooperation. In particular, this climbing precedes a wide range of projects in the US, such as performances of big bands from Kazakhstan. The first performance will take place on June 30 at the famous Carnegie Hall. We are waiting for new success and new meetings," Consul General of Kazakhstan to New York Raushan Yesbulatova said.
