Kazakh, Bulgarian universities signed agreement on student exchange

ALMATY. June 16. KAZINFORM. /Aigul Turysbekova/ Agreement on international student exchange was signed between the Kazakh National Agrarian University and the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in Almaty yesterday; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh university?s press service.

The foreign delegation consisted of rector of the Plovdiv University Dimitar Grekov, director of an educational firm V. Dobichina, consul of Bulgarian embassy in Kazakhstan Ivan Stomlatov and counselor of the embassy Boris Yanchev. They got acquainted with work of the Kazakh Agrarian University. Mr. Dimitar Grekov told about the Plovdiv University that was founded in 1945. It has four departments including agronomics, winegrowing and vegetable farming, plant protection and agro-ecology, economics. Since its opening the University prepared 24 thousand specialists. 3,000 out of them were foreign students from Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America. The guests proposed to study the opportunity of introduction of eco- and agro-tourism specialty in the Kazakh National Agrarian University. Besides, they expressed interest in the issue of distance education on economic specialty of the Kazakh University. D. Grekov was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the Kazakh National Agrarian University.
