Kazakh Sanzhar-Ali Begaliyev beats undefeated boxer from Cuba at IBA Youth World Championships semifinals
Kazakh boxer Sanzhar-Ali Begaliyev (75kg) advanced to semifinals of the IBA Youth World Championships 2024 in Budva, Montenegro, Kazinform News Agency learnt from Sports.kz.
Sanzhar-Ali Begaliyev of Kazakhstan defeated Yurisniel Abreu Ardiles of Cuba in the 75kg quarterfinal bout of the IBA Youth World Championships. The Kazakh athlete won the bout via split decision with a score of 4:1.
Thus, Sanzhar-Ali Begaliyev propelled to semifinals of the IBA Youth World Championships 2024, where he will be vying for a place on the podium.
It should be noted that Sanzhar-Ali Begaliyev secured gold at the 2022 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships.
Prior to this match, Yurisniel Abreu Ardiles had an amateur record of 4-0. He had previously won the Youth World Boxing Cup Adriatic Pearl, which was also held in Budva.
