Kazakh-Belgian Interparliamentary coop discussed in Brussels

BRUSSELS. February 9. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Belgium and Luxemburg, Head of Missions to the European Union and NATO Yerik Utembayev held a meeting with President of the House of Representatives of Belgian Federal Parliament Andre Flahaut. The sides discussed prospects of Interparliamentary cooperation of Kazakhstan and Belgium.

The Kazakh Ambassador congratulated his interlocutor on the successful completion of the Belgian EU Council presidency and noted that despite the political situation the country was capable of conducting effective and fruitful work within the presidency. Besides, Y.Utembayev thanked A.Flahaut for priceless support of the Kazakhstan's OSCE presidency and Prime Minister Yves Leterme's participation in the Astana Summit of the Organization.

A.Flahaut, in his turn, expressed gratitude for high appraisal of the Belgian presidency. He complimented the importance of the Kazakhstan's initiative on holding the OSCE Summit.

Regarding issues of strengthening the interparliamentary cooperation the Speaker of the Belgian Parliament spoke for further deepening of the bilateral contacts as well as holding of meetings of respective parliamentary groups of the two states in order to define prospects for cooperation.

Besides, the Belgian Speaker highly appraised economic development and achievements of Kazakhstan that became possible due to the wise policy of President N.Nazarbayev. A.Flahaut complimented the great economic potential of our country which is enough for further integration to the global economic space. In this regard, he spoke for further development of economic contacts between Kazakhstan and Belgium.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on the process of bilateral cooperation of Kazakhstan and Belgium in different fields. They stated that the last year was very productive for the Kazakh-Belgian relations.
