Kazakh athletes at Olympic Park: Karpov, Matsko advance, Filippov out

LONDON. August 8. KAZINFORM Dmitriy Karpov is ranked 14th with 1745 points in Men's Decathlon after the long jump. He is expected to participate in Men's Decathlon Shot Put at the Olympic Stadium in London.
One more good news came from the Olympic Park. Our athlete Margarita Matsko Mukasheva qualified for semifinals in Women's 800m Round 1. The next competition will be held at the stadium tomorrow on August 9.
Sad, but true: Nikita Filippov who as we hoped would perform well in Men's Pole Vault Qualification failed. He was ranked 18th in the standings with the best effort of 5.53 meters, far below his opponents' results.
