Kazakh and Chinese Heads of Governments sign joint statement

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Joint Statement of the second regular meeting of the Heads of Governments of Kazakhstan and China has been signed today in Astana.

The document was signed by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov and Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang.

In addition, the parties have made changes and additions to the agreement between the two governments on the regulation of the international center of boundary cooperation "Khorgos".

Following the meeting the PMs inked a number of agreements and memorandums. The National Bank of Kazakhstan and the People's Bank of China signed an agreement on mutual settlements in national currencies, as well as an agreement on currency swap tenge/yuan. Kazakh Ministry of Energy and the Department of Atomic Energy of China have inked the memorandum of understanding to deepen collaboration in the nuclear industry.

Kazakh Ministry of National Economy and the State Committee for Development and Reform Commission of China agreed to jointly promote the establishment of "the economic zone of the Silk Road."
