Kazakh and Belarus prime ministers discussed prospects of trade-economic cooperation
ASTANA. April 25. KAZINFORM Today, as part of his official visit to Belarus, Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has held talks with Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, Kazinform refers to primeminister.kz
During the meeting in narrow format the premiers discussed issues of further development of bilateral relations, including in the trade and economic sphere.
Noting the high level of mutual understanding and trust between Kazakhstan and Belarus, Serik Akhmetov said that "the deepening of the integration process between the two countries is one of the main priorities of Kazakhstan's foreign policy."
"Last year, the volume of trade between our countries exceeded USD 1 billion, and we have every opportunity to increase it twofold in the coming years," Akhmetov stated.
Mikhail Myasnikovich said that "Kazakhstan and Belarus have great potential for the successful development of cooperation in trade and economic sphere."
"We have already passed the period of investment cooperation, and the two countries have good prospects for scientific, technological and innovation cooperation. Today's signing of joint documents confirms this," Myasnikovich noted.
The sides also exchanged opinions on the development of cooperation in the framework of the Customs Union and the formation of Single Economic Space.
