Kazakh and Belarus Foreign Ministers met

ASTANA. May 24. KAZINFORM Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kazykhanov held a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Sergey Martynov who arrived in Kazakhstan within the official visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Kazakhstan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan informs.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues on bilateral cooperation including ones on activation of a political dialogue and further development of trade and economic interaction. They also considered the pace of realization of the reached agreements between the Heads of State and Governments of the two countries.

The Ministers shared opinions on cooperation within the integration processes. In particular, they expressed satisfaction with the progress that had been made over the recent years in the sphere of cooperation within the framework of the SCTO. The parties also reconfirmed their commitment to development of integration processes within the CIS paying special attention to the events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the CIS.

Discussing the issues of economic cooperation the Ministers touched upon the Customs Union and noted how beneficial it was for the member countries. The plans on establishing the Single Economic Space and Eurasian Economic Union were pointed out as a prove of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Belarus.
