Kazakh Ambassador to Uzbekistan gave lecture on Kazakhstan's foreign policy
TASHKENT. April 21. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Boribay Zheksembin gave a lecture to the students of the Academy of State and Social Construction on Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the invitation of the Uzbek President.
The Ambassador briefed on the major directions of Kazakhstan's foreign policy and said "the main objective of Kazakhstan diplomacy is provision of favorable external conditions for conduction of socio-economic reforms in the country, attraction of foreign investments as well as strengthening further interaction of Kazakhstan with foreign countries and international organizations".
Touching upon Kazakhstan's foreign policy within the international structures B. Zheksembin outlined the main directions of Kazakhstan's activity on the post of the OSCE presiding country and the results of the first 100 days of its chairmanship in this authoritative organization. The Diplomat drew the participants' attention to cooperation of Kazakhstan with such international organizations like the UN, the EurAsEC, the NATO, the CSTO etc.
The issues concerning nuclear security were in spotlight as well. The students were provided with detailed information on the Kazakh President's initiatives on establishment of new nuclear-free areas, prevention of proliferation of nuclear materials and fight with nuclear terrorism and the proposition on development and adoption of the Universal Declaration on Nuclear Weapons-Free World.
Besides, the participants were acquainted with N. Nazarbayev's article on Global Peace and Nuclear Security.
As for the relations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the Diplomat noted strategic character of both countries' bilateral cooperation.
