Kazakh Ambassador to Spain visited autonomous community of Catalonia
ASTANA. May 4. KAZINFORM On April 28-29, 2010 Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Spain Yergali Bulegenov made a working trip around autonomous community of Catalonia. Within the visit the Ambassador met with the authorities of Salou city, the province of Tarragona, and took part in presentation of N. Nazarbayev's book Kazakhstan's Way translated into the Spanish language.
As the press service of the Kazakh MFA reports, at the meeting with Mayor of Salou Pere Granados the Kazakh Diplomat informed the Spanish side of political and social processes in our country, the major provisions of the Kazakh President's Address to the Nation. Topical issues of political and economic cooperation between two countries were discussed. Particular attention was given to performance of Kazakhstan's functions within its OSCE chairmanship.
Representatives of the Mayor's Office of Salou, deputies of the parliament, diplomatic corps, representatives of the CIS countries living in Tarragona province participated in the presentation. The Spanish audience expressed interest in the Kazakh President's book.
Within the trip the Ambassador held meetings with the Kazakhstani children adopted by Catalonian families. Y. Bulegenov told about the state policy relating to children, the work on improvement of legislation, the process of ratification of major international documents on protection of children's rights by the Kazakhstan Parliament having highlighted importance of coordination of joint actions on control over the process of adoption in conformity with international requirements.
